What can I recover from a medical malpractice or negligence lawsuit?

There are two types of damages that are recoverable in any medical malpractice case. These are general or non-economic damages (pain and suffering, emotional distress, etc.) and economic damages, which include loss of earnings and medical expenses. Arizona has no specific award limits. Therefore, it is up to the jury to decide what is fair concerning both economic and non-economic losses, as well as punitive damages, if any.
